Meeting

There are currently no vacancies on the Springthorpe and Sturgate Parish Meeting for councillors.

Elections occur at the Annual Parish Council Meeting (APCM) in May of each year so if you wish to be considered for the Chair's seat by your parishioners, the following documents will be of interest to you:

Springthorpe and Sturgate Parish Meeting

There is one official seat on the council; all remaining positions are unofficial. Please be aware that all positions with the exception of the Clerk are unpaid.

Following the council meeting of November 2023, the following vacancies for Parish Meeting officials were created and declared vacant. All posts except that of Clerk are estimated to occupy approximately 2 hrs pcm for an applicant.

  • Vice Chair
  • Clerk
  • Treasurer
  • Website Manager

We currently outsource the Web Manager work to the LALC Website Maintenance Service at a cost of approximately £110 a year. If we could find a voluntary Website Manager, the money could be used to employ a qualified part-time Parish Clerk which would enhance our compliance with Council Regulations particularly as they apply to Meeting Procedure.

DRAFT Job and Person descriptions for Treasurer and Web Manager have been prepared and circulated and will be finalised and adopted at the Annual Parish Council Meeting on 13 May 2024.

If you would like to volunteer for one of these posts then please contact the Parish Clerk.

Proposals will be submitted for voting at the next Annual Parish Council Meeting on 13 May 2024.
